Helmut Marko confirmed on Monday that Max Verstappen will remain with Red Bull for at least one more season, quashing speculation about a potential early departure.
The Dutchman’s contract reportedly contained an exit clause stipulating that he could leave the team if he ranked fourth or lower in the championship standings by the time of this year’s Hungarian Grand Prix.
However, Verstappen’s strong performance has rendered that clause irrelevant. Following his recent showing at the Belgian Grand Prix, he now occupies third place in the standings.
Crucially, his 28-point advantage over George Russell in fourth ensures that even the upcoming Hungarian round cannot jeopardize his current position.
As a result, Verstappen’s future with Red Bull appears secure for the foreseeable future, consolidating the team’s stability as the championship battle intensifies.
